Restylane

Restylane is the first and only FDA-approved dermal filler made of stable, biodegradable non-animal hyaluronic acid and is intended for the treatment of facial wrinkles and folds. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in all living organisms. It is a key structural component of the skin, creating volume and shape.

Restylane is formulated as a clear gel and uses a dual mechanism of action correct wrinkles and folds. In a simple procedure, Restylane is injected directly into the mid-to-deep dermis for the long-lasting correction of moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles and folds. Upon injection, the gel adds natural volume and lift to smooth the skin.

Restylane offers several advantages over previously available fillers, such as collagen. Allergic reactions to Restylane are extremely rare and a skin test is not required. The results can be seen immediately and last almost twice as long as collagen. Studies have found that results from Restylane injections lasts approximately six to nine months, in contrast to injectable collagen which lasts just three to six months. And because it is natural, Restylane is gradually degraded by the body's own mechanism and disappears without any residue.

Restylane produces a natural enhancement that is gentle and safe to the skin, which is what most of patients are looking for. It provides a long-lasting, effective treatment that doesn't require a six-week wait for allergy testing. The treatment can be done in less than half an hour and because results are visible immediately, patients walk out of the office with smoother, younger-looking skin.
